DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS April 11, 2004 In Reply Refer To: 632/122 Mark Gorkin MSW, LICSW Dear Mark Gorkin On behalf of our Social Work staff and myself, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for the terrific presentation, on "Practicing Safe Stress" you gave at our Social Work Month Celebration on Tuesday March 29, 2005. Your talk hit "the mark" and resonated exceptionally well with everyone. The value of your presentation was also well received by our non-VA Community Award recipients and guests. From feedback I received, our Social Work Month Program was a huge success. Clearly your participation contributed substantially to this outcome. It was a true treat for all of us to benefit from your many years of experience as a colleague who has been "in the trenches" working in health care and fully appreciate just how "stressful" it can be. Thank you again for taking the time to share with us your perspective and values about the importance of "Practicing Safe Stress" in order to rejuvenate ourselves and maintain balance in our lives as Social Workers. Happy Social Work Month. Sincerely, John A. Sperandeo, LCSW
